Grupo Lampa, a leader in ferrous scrap processing in Chile and a pioneer in bulk scrap export, recently exported more than 17,000 tons abroad, boosting the economy with more jobs and making a substantial contribution to waste management and the ferrous material industry.
According to Victor Jara, General Manager of Grupo Lampa, this export “allows us to consolidate ourselves as pioneers in bulk scrap export, in addition to reaffirming our leadership in the waste and metal processing industry in Chile.”
The executive added “it demonstrates the company’s ability to efficiently manage ferrous material and its commitment to the environment and the circular economy.” He also highlighted that 100% of the energy used in the recycling processes is clean and renewable.
The export of bulk scrap requires a great logistical effort in its planning and management, as well as in transporting the material to the port and subsequently loading onto a ship. This contributes to waste reduction and promotes the reuse of materials, which has a positive impact on the environment and sustainability.
